This year’s District 12 Key Club Annual Service Event was a resounding success, bringing together students and community members for a meaningful day of service. The event featured six impactful sessions, each designed to spread joy and support various groups in our community:
- Cookie Decorating and Holiday Cards: Participants decorated cookies and created holiday cards, which were delivered to senior citizens in Maple Heights.
- Sock Snowmen: Attendees crafted adorable snowmen out of socks to be distributed to clients at the Southwest Solutions Therapy Center.
- Fidget Bracelets: These calming tools were handmade and donated to a local autism support group.
- Arts & Scraps: Volunteers prepared materials for Arts and Scraps, a nonprofit supporting creative education.
- Tie Blankets: Beautiful tie blankets were completed to be included in care packages for patients at Davita Dialysis.
- Anxiety Awareness Session: Many participants attended a session that provided valuable tools and strategies for managing anxiety, both for themselves and others.
The event fostered a strong sense of community and generosity, with 66 members from Melvindale High School and the Dearborn high schools joining forces to make a difference. It was a wonderful way to embrace the holiday spirit and positively impact the lives of so many.
