Click the Newsela link and read the article. (You may need to log in with Google). Choose the lexile level that works best for you. As you read, highlight/ note the claim and the evidence you will use from the article to support your claim. One of your pieces of evidence should be a direct quote from the article. Then, you will explain how the evidence proves or supports the claim in your reasoning paragraph.

Read the "Using the CER strategy" doc, watching the videos and answering questions as you go. Then do the CER assignment.

Place a sticky note with your name on it in the "topic corner" of your choice.

Read and follow all directions on the doc. After answering the questions, go back and re-read to be sure you completed all requirements before submitting so you get maximum points!

Follow the directions, include all the requirements and turn in by the due date for full-and easy-credit.
