Brad MacDonald
Hello, my name is Mr. MacDonald. I am entering my 11th year teaching and my 6th year here at MHS. I have a B.A. in International Trade and French from Eastern Michigan University, an M.A. from the University of Detroit Mercy and am completing additional graduate coursework in bilingual education at Wayne State University.
Throughout my teaching career I have taught French from the 5th to 12th grade level, US and World History, Applied Civics, Law, and Current Events with a concentration in social studies for English Language Learners. This year, I am joining the Career and Technical Education (CTE) department to create a new class to recruit and develop the next generation of educators. Education is the bedrock of society, and I cannot imagine a better environment to implement such a program than at MHS.
I am also an advisor for Michigan Youth in Government, the Detroit Economic Club, and the MHS Class of 2021.
I am passionate about learning languages and using my skills to build bridges with students and the wider community. I enjoy using Arabic and Spanish on a daily basis and strengthening these language skills in conversation with students.
I am the proud parent of an infant son, Anderson. My interests outside of teaching are travel, reading, hiking, and learning about diverse cultures.
